Audience data · mail sort · IMb

Targeted and triggered direct mail built from defined audience data.

DIS Direct produces targeted and triggered mail from audience data or parameters supplied by the client. A mail-list partner can source the defined audience, then DIS Direct prepares the data, produces the mail, sorts it, and applies Intelligent Mail barcodes for USPS tracking. The production minimum is 150,000 pieces.

A defined audience and event can make a mailing more timely, but the production workflow still needs approved data, art, quantity, components, and mail dates. DIS Direct executes the physical mail path once those inputs are ready.

The supported audience workflow

The client supplies target data or audience parameters. When a list is needed, a mail-list partner sources the defined audience. DIS Direct then prepares the mailing data, produces the piece, completes the mail sort, and uses IMb for USPS tracking.

  • Client-supplied audience data or selection parameters
  • List sourcing through a mail-list partner when scoped
  • CASS, NCOA, presort, and Intelligent Mail barcodes
  • Postcards, self-mailers, or supplied-envelope letter packs

What triggered means in this production service

A trigger is the client-defined condition that creates a mailing audience or file. DIS Direct receives and executes the approved production input. API ingestion, webhook automation, real-time decisioning, and guaranteed trigger-to-mail SLAs are not represented as part of the public service.

Tracking is tied to the mail piece

Intelligent Mail barcodes support USPS mail tracking. They do not measure revenue, response, or customer outcomes by themselves. Campaign attribution remains the responsibility of the program owner and its approved tracking systems.

Frequently asked

Does DIS Direct decide who should receive the mailing?
No. The client supplies the audience data or selection parameters. A mail-list partner can source the defined list when that work is included in the scope.
Does the service include API or webhook triggers?
Not as a published capability. DIS Direct executes approved production files and defined mailing instructions; integration method and timing must be confirmed for each program.
Can the mailing be tracked?
Yes. DIS Direct can apply Intelligent Mail barcodes so mail movement is trackable through available USPS data.
