When EDDM fits
Local retail, healthcare, political, and franchise programs use EDDM when geography matters more than a named list. Each selected route covers every delivery point, which can be efficient when the offer is truly local.
- USPS-approved EDDM sizes and paper stocks
- Route selection support and saturation planning
- Print, address (where required), bundle, and induct
- Works with USPS Informed Delivery campaigns
EDDM Retail vs. business mail entry
USPS offers EDDM Retail, with simplified entry and daily piece limits per ZIP Code, as well as higher-volume BMEU and Marketing Mail saturation paths. Program-scale work usually needs a plant that can manage production and business mail entry rather than a small retail counter drop.
EDDM at program volume
Online postcard shops optimize for one-off SMB orders. We optimize for volume, trade overflow, and programs that need the same piece across dozens of routes with consistent color and induction timing.
Postage and production costs
EDDM postage is published by USPS (see Notice 123 / the EDDM product page). Print and lettershop cost depends on size, ink, quantity, and how many routes you drop. See our EDDM cost guide for a clearer breakdown, then talk to us with route counts and a target drop date.
Production proof
Anonymized examples from real programs. Client names stay confidential as part of our trade production model.
Multi-market franchise saturation
Printed and entered EDDM for a national franchise program across dozens of ZIP clusters in one production window, with a shared creative system, route-level quantities, and consistent color across every drop.
Political / civic window
Compressed-turn EDDM for a regional civic mailer: USPS-compliant flats, facing slips, and induction timed to an immovable public calendar.
Trade overflow for a commercial printer
Absorbed a partner printer’s EDDM peak when their bindery was at capacity. Blind-shipped finished bundles; their brand stayed on the relationship.
