How to hand off overflow direct mail production.

A clean overflow handoff gives the production partner the full specification, approved files, data rules, supplied-component dates, postal plan, delivery instructions, and client-facing boundaries. For DIS Direct, the job must total at least 150,000 pieces and fit the supported print, lettershop, personalization, and mailing path.

Overflow works when both plants agree on ownership before the clock becomes the only decision maker. Define the handoff, exclusions, approvals, and shipping identity in writing.

Qualify before transferring files

Confirm at least 150,000 pieces, a supported format, black-and-white variable requirements, finishing, materials, postal preparation, and the date. Route digital printing, envelope printing, books, binding, stapling, and color variable work elsewhere.

Protect the client relationship

State the white-label rules, contact path, proof routing, carton labels, shipping documents, and delivery instructions. DIS Direct can blind-ship trade work without its branding.

Transfer the production truth

Provide the final quantity by version and wave, art, data map, matching rules, supplied components, proof approvals, mail class, list counts, postage, entry, geography, and target dates. Assumptions do not travel well between plants.
