Lettershop vs. print-only: what changes after the press run?

A print-only vendor delivers printed sheets, forms, or components. A lettershop completes the work required to mail them, including folding, inserting, matching, addressing, sorting, and tray preparation. Using one plant for both reduces handoffs and keeps matched mail, quality control, and USPS entry on one schedule.

A press date is only one part of a mailing schedule. Inserting, matching, postal documentation, and tray preparation must also finish on time for the planned USPS entry date.

Risks of split production

Version mismatches, damaged stock, lost days in transit, and nobody owning postage documentation.

Benefits of one print-and-mail plant

One quality-control plan covers press, imaging, inserting, and USPS entry, which is especially useful for VDP and multipack work.
