Self-mailers

Self mailer printing and finishing.

A self-mailer is a folded and sealed mail piece that does not need a separate envelope. It gives marketers more room than a postcard while eliminating an outer envelope. DIS Direct prints, folds, glues, tabs, addresses, and mails self-mailers for high-volume acquisition and retention programs.

Self-mailers provide more space for copy and graphics than a postcard without requiring a full letter pack. We print, fold, glue, and tab them for USPS entry and a clean in-home presentation.

Self-mailer construction and postal requirements

Panel count, scores, glue pattern, and tabbing affect both the opening experience and USPS machinability. We review the finished construction as well as the PDF proof.

  • Multi-panel folds with controlled glue
  • Wafer seals / tabs to USPS expectations
  • Optional VDP windows and codes
  • Inline finishing on hybrid web where it fits

When to choose a self-mailer

Use self-mailers when you need more narrative space than a postcard and do not need an outer envelope. Choose a letter pack when the job requires stronger privacy or matched inserts.

Frequently asked

Are self-mailers cheaper than letter packs?
Often on a unit basis, because you avoid a separate envelope and inserting. Final cost depends on panels, glue, and postage class.
